You may already know that TLC Business supports ‘CamKids’, The Cambodian Children’s Charity. A year ago, TLC Business decided to help ‘CamKids’ further by sponsoring a child called Sreylim, this year we have decided to support a 2nd charity, WaterAid.
Whilst many people are feeling the pinch, we sometimes forget how good we actually have it. 884 million people in the world do not have access to safe water. This is roughly one in eight of the world's population.
We use water to drink, to clean, to cook, to grow things, to wash our cars, to do countless things that we often take for granted, because we have easy access to one of the most precious resources in the world.
WaterAid's vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water and sanitation. TLC Business wants to support WaterAid with their mission to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities.
Stay tuned this year for some of our fundraising efforts.

It is not sexy but market research might just be the missing piece of your marketing puzzle. SMEs have been historically poor at undertaking research prior to undertaking marketing campaigns. All too often, assumptions rather than facts are used to inform SME’s marketing decisions.
In a challenging economic climate, it is as important as ever for SMEs to generate a return on every marketing activity they invest in. Without research many businesses are effectively just gambling with their marketing spend.
To push the odds in your favour, effective market research will remove the guess work, giving your marketing a clear focus and most importantly, a real chance of generating a desirable ROI.

TLC Business hosted our annual marketing seminar last Thursday. This year's topic was social media for SMEs, clearly an area of interest for businesses because the event was a sell out. Attendees were treated to a morning of presentations from experts in LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube and given insights into how to use social media effectively in their businesses.
We are delighted the seminar was well received and we all left the session with a whole host of hints, tips and guidance on how to start using social media more effectively in our businesses.
For those that were unable to attend and attendees that would like to review the slides in more detail, we have uploaded the speaker's presentations and top tips below. To download them, just click on the link:
